Emi’s musical journey began at age 5, training with Yamaha Music Malaysia and through private tuition. She completed ABRSM Grades 2–4 within just 12 months and later achieved Grade 8, performing regularly in concerts and festivals.
After earning an LLB (Hons) from Coventry University, Emi spent over two decades building a successful corporate career across financial services and energy sectors London’s Square Mile before returning to her lifelong passion for music.
She founded Emi Piano Studio, now a thriving, award-winning, 5-star-rated music studio trusted by families across Orpington, Bromley and beyond, with a 100% ABRSM exam success rate and students regularly achieving Merits and Distinctions. Students perform confidently at bi-annual recitals, local concerts, community outreach showcases, and music festivals across Bromley, Sevenoaks, Maidstone, Blackheath, and Tunbridge Wells, and demand for lessons continues to grow.
The studio is proudly inclusive and works closely with local schools and care homes, bringing music into the wider community.
By blending classical training with modern methods and professional discipline, Emi is redefining how children learn piano, moving away from rigid traditional methods towards a joyful, engaging, and confidence-building experience. The result? Children don’t just learn piano - they fall in love with it.
Emi is a member of the Independent Society of Musicians (ISM) and the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA), holds a DBS Enhanced Certificate, and is trained in Child Protection in Education (Music) and Workplace First Aid.
Emi Piano Studio is the winner of Best Start-Up at the Above & Beyond Bromley Business Awards 2025, a testament to the community’s trust in our unique approach and the work we do.
Outside the studio, Emi enjoys travelling, cycling, hiking, and theatre. A history enthusiast with a passion for interior design, she also enjoys cooking and drawing.
