1. Joining the Studio

• Intro Lesson: Complete our Registration Form to book your Intro Lesson for just £19, with no obligation to join.

• Joining: If you decide to continue, we’ll reserve a weekly lesson time just for you. By accepting your place, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by this Tuition Agreement. AutoPay will then be activated.
• Ongoing Enrolment: Your place continues from year to year unless you give 30 days’ written notice to leave.

2. Fees & Payment Terms

Lessons are offered through a simple monthly payment plan, providing a reserved weekly lesson time, consistency and steady, meaningful progress over time.

• Easy & automated: Tuition fees are collected automatically by AutoPay (BACS Direct Debit or card) on the 1st of each month, including August.
• Spread the cost: Your annual tuition fee covers 38 teaching weeks per academic year and is conveniently spread across 12 equal monthly payments, rather than larger termly payments.
• Join anytime: Start lessons at any time during the year - we’ll simply pro-rate your first month.

• Music theory and all card processing fees are included at no extra cost.

• Top-Up Lessons: Extra lessons are available for exams or specific goals and are arranged and paid for separately.

• Payments more than 10 days overdue incur a 10% late fee. Three late payments may result in the lesson place being withdrawn.

• Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable (except between siblings).

3. Missed Lessons

• Missed lessons are not refunded or rescheduled.
• Simply cancel your lesson via the Student Portal. There's no need to contact us.

• For genuine illness (24+ hours' notice), students may receive up to 3 make-up lesson credits per academic year (or 1 a term). Credits are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.
• Optional teacher feedback is available via Practice Space by uploading a video of assigned pieces.
• If a teacher is unavailable, we'll arrange a substitute, reschedule, credit or refund the lesson.
• Regular attendance is expected. Frequent cancellations may result in the lesson place being offered to a student on the waiting list. \

4. Lesson Expectations

• Please arrive on time with your piano books, in an A4 folder or bag, and bottled water.
• Piano books must be brought to every lesson. Repeatedly forgotten books may need to be replaced at the family's expense.
• Please arrive no more than 5 minutes early, as there is no waiting area.
• Parents do not attend lessons (except Intro Lessons). Siblings with back-to-back lessons may wait quietly in the studio.
• Please park considerately and avoid blocking neighbouring driveways, even briefly when dropping off or collecting students.

5. Conduct & Care

• Shoes must be removed on arrival. Hands should be clean, nails kept short, and false nails are not permitted for the best playing experience.
• Bottled water is welcome. Snacks, other drinks and bathroom breaks should be taken care of before arriving for your lesson.
• Students are expected to treat our instruments, equipment and furniture with care. Any damage may be charged to the responsible party.
• Repeated disruptive behaviour, poor attendance, repeated late payments, lack of practice, banging or hitting on the piano, misuse of studio equipment, or failure to follow studio policies may result in lessons being withdrawn.

6. Practice Expectations & Attendance

• Regular attendance and practice between lessons are two of the biggest factors in a student's success and enjoyment. Parental support and encouragement play a vital role in success.
• Beginners should aim for 20-30 minutes, 4 times per week. Grade 3–8 students should aim for around 1 hour of practice each day.
• Every student progresses at their own pace, with lessons tailored to individual learning styles while developing technique, artistry, and music theory.
• Frequent absences, repeated requests to reschedule, or insufficient practice may result in discontinuation of lessons.

7. Instrument Requirement

• Beginners may start with a 61-key touch-sensitive keyboard. An 88-key weighted digital or acoustic piano is recommended as students progress and is required for graded levels.

8. Pausing and Terminating Lessons

• Lesson slots cannot be held during temporary absences or extended breaks. To retain your lesson slot, tuition fees must continue as normal. Otherwise, the space may be offered to a student on the waiting list.‍
• If you wish to stop lessons, please provide 30 days' written notice. Lessons and monthly payments continue during the notice period. This allows tuition to conclude positively and ensures a smooth transition for everyone.

9. Recitals & Communication

• Students are encouraged to take part in our recitals and community performances, helping them develop confidence and performance skills.
• We keep families informed via email, SMS, WhatsApp (07712-220 513) and the Student Portal.

10. Privacy & Legal

• Media consent is chosen during registration.
• Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
• A 14-day cooling-off period applies under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.
• Some lesson materials are protected by copyright or licensing agreements. They are provided for enrolled students only and must not be copied, shared or distributed.
• The studio holds Public Liability Insurance, and all teachers have Enhanced DBS checks and Safeguarding Training for Music Education. First Aid training is also held within the teaching team.
